Europe, Western countries, and America should stop meddling in India's affairs. The constant outcry over the alleged persecution of Muslims should cease. If they believe Muslims are being persecuted, they can offer them asylum in their own countries.
Since its establishment in 1998, the US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) has consistently accused India of persecuting Muslims. There are hardly any reports from this commission that do not criticize India. Notably, the commission does not have a single Hindu member, which indicates its biased narrative against India.
Sam Stevenson, Assistant Editor of the British newspaper "Daily Express," who is in India to cover the Lok Sabha elections, recently stated that European and Western countries have inundated the media with negative and biased stories against India. The reality on the ground, however, shows communal harmony in the election rallies of the Prime Minister.
Stevenson noted that the British media attempts to view complex issues superficially, often labeling Modi as anti-Islam, despite the presence of people from all religions, including Muslim women, at his rallies. The rich heritage and inclusivity of this country are being overlooked. Stevenson emphasized that the efforts to malign India with negative rhetoric should stop. Unfortunately, the perspective of Western and European countries towards India is not favorable.
Adding to Stevenson’s points, it is clear that these Western and European countries, through their media, are not only creating a negative image of India but are also aided by numerous Indian journalists and politicians residing in these countries, who contribute to the anti-India narrative. Figures like Sam Pitroda are seated in America, collaborating with foreign powers to portray Modi as anti-Islam, with significant support from Indian politicians.
However, these Western, European countries, and America are oblivious to the intricate web they have woven by granting extensive freedoms to Muslims in their own countries. Britain stands on the brink of division, France is capable of igniting at any moment, as seen last January, and Germany and other countries face similar situations.
Britain will inevitably face the consequences of its "misdeeds" of partitioning India for Muslims. America, opposing Islamophobia, will eventually find it challenging to manage the ensuing situation. Therefore, it is better for these countries to focus on their own affairs rather than on India.
They must understand that there is no such thing as "persecution" of Muslims in India; otherwise, why would Muslims choose to live in India? Despite having created Pakistan, Pakistanis wish to come to India; Bangladeshis infiltrate, and even Rohingyas seek refuge here. It would have been better for them to go to China instead.
Nevertheless, if these countries believe Muslims are being "persecuted," they should take them in and provide asylum. What Muslims can get in these countries, such as unemployment benefits, India cannot provide.
Criticism of Western and European Interference in Indian Affairs, Especially Regarding Religious Freedom and Muslim Persecution
Western Interference and Indian Sovereignty:
Many Indian citizens and leaders believe that Western countries’ interference in Indian affairs violates Indian sovereignty. This is a sensitive issue where external countries' negative comments are viewed as against Indian sovereignty. USCIRF reports on India often discuss the persecution of religious minorities, especially Muslims. While this commission has been critical of Indian government policies, it's not necessary that these reports are always unbiased. From an Indian perspective, they may be seen as one-sided.
Media and Western Countries' Perspective:
Sam Stevenson’s comments indicate that Western media often view Indian politics and society from a negative perspective. These media reports do not always reflect the ground reality and ignore instances of communal harmony.
Internal Challenges of Western Countries:
Western countries also face internal challenges, especially regarding the Muslim issue. Britain, France, and Germany are experiencing social division and tensions. It is noteworthy that these countries also face challenges in maintaining communal harmony.
Status of Muslims in India:
The persecution of Muslims in India is a complex and sensitive issue. While many Muslims in India are leading normal lives and participating in development, certain events and policies have been controversial and subject to discussion.
Global Politics and Diplomatic Relations:
In global politics, every country acts to protect its interests. Relations between India and Western countries fluctuate. It is important for both sides to understand each other's concerns through dialogue and find solutions. Ultimately, it is crucial to respect the sovereignty of any country and avoid interference in internal matters. Through dialogue and tolerance, global problems can be addressed.
